Day dreaming of the Cotswolds on this Tuesday

We were chatting to Wayne's mom about rural England over the weekend and it made me day dream

Such happy memories of green hills and stone cottages and churches!

Also special as my beloved Miss Read's novels are set there... who said 

"happiness is the result of an attitude of mind.  I believe you can build it out of small things..."

And we were happy there doing small lovely things like walking, talking, tasting

and taking in all the ancient beauty.

We have been away for a few days in the Stanford / Gansbaai area... this above

My brother-in-law got the girls in the river to try Stand up paddle boarding.

V+A Waterfront

The Christmas vibe is best at the V+A,

with its huge Christmas tree, light show and Santa workshop for the kiddies...

and their book store is so well stocked - had to pop in there!

This was dessert on Saturday night with old friends... it was all finished on the night.

Yesterday was so hot so it was pool time with my parents and giggles at night with my girl!

Our weekend in the mountains

Ladismith is the proverbial 'breath of fresh air' place.  It's surrounded by mountains, 

is quiet and relaxing, with the friendliest people.  When we stopped to ask for directions at a nearby farm, these folks just hopped into their car to drive ahead of us and led us to our cottage.  

In the city we just draw them a map.  

Every view from the patio was beautiful.

We stopped at Diesel and Cream for crumpets, as you do.  Their milkshakes are amazing!

The holiday garden

I am remembering all the lovely fruit and vegetables that we had on holiday... from the fertile ground around us.

My daily breakfast included a bowl of summer fruit.

This is where we hung out for a bit... it was too wonderful.  

All our vegetables came from the garden and virtually every view was the garden and the sea.

This is my uncle filling up from the spring water on our property.

The wooded area was my favourite.

And there is a little cave there too!

Away time

We have been on holiday for a few weeks and now we have resettled into 

early hours and work life again.  

A new year getaway

We were away for a few days in Greyton... a lovely relaxed little town surrounded by their 

beautiful mountains and hospitality

and spent New Years day at Onrus beach.  Perfect!

We went to the Hillsong Christmas Spectacular... the singing was so beautiful.

It's a baking day today... Becca and I are baking and listening to the cd mentioned above!
