Well indeed

"But all shall be well,
and all shall be well,
and all manner of thing shall be well,
and we shall see it"

~ St Julian of Norwich

On my walks past the dam... the happy ducks, the sunshine, the breeze, the slowness from all the busy and concern, it reminds me that all shall be well.  Indeed.

Sam's apples

We were recently with my sister-in-law and her family.  She has several apple trees and we picked and ate apples every single day (and baked apple crumble).  Her bountiful trees are a lot like her.  Generous.
She is the perfect hostess, really generous and considerate.
She makes you feel so welcome to be in her home.

When the pace slackens

Dreamy weekends in Spring!! This was on Sunday. We met friends at a lovely farm with delicious food.  Becca was helping the little ones on the jungle gym.  She was beautiful to watch.

Veggie Sushi

I used my leftover Millet at the bottom and then added salad (avo, sprouts, pepper, watercress etc) with lots of veg and a smear of hummus.  Then rolled tightly and cut with a sharp knife.

A glorious sunrise

This was my treat this morning as I was finishing my run. That is my house in the
distance. A very beautiful and welcome sight.

Miracle broad beans

So many beans picked yesterday.  We then shelled them and put some into bags to freeze.

These sturdy elongated fluffy pods and tender little attachment for each bean are simply amazing to me.

The Cape wildflowers

This is in the fields just behind our house where we walk.

The real green juice

It's early and I'm making a loud noise... I need to get to my quiet time... a contradiction early in the morning.  The blender is mixing my green juice and I'm considering all the good stuff that I'm about to drink.

"I can nourish myself on nothing but truth"
~ Therese de Lisieux

The real green juice of the soul is Gods word... "God's word is good and provides what is good for us' says Ann Voskamp.  Why do we drink gallons of superfood drinks but trickles of the words of life...

Indeed I am thirsty and need much of this desperately... the eternal words that nourish - personally and  - deeply.  This is the real green juice.

The gaze of the soul

"The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light."
~ Matthew 6.22

On most days, I will gaze at my kitchen door (which is a giant blackboard) while I make coffee and I was reminded this morning that what I look at matters significantly.
