Cronuts make the studious minutes better

A school dance and a little more growing

Just before Easter was her first senior dance.  She did her make up and I did her hair.  The minutes flew... she was radiant.  And I keep thinking that we were again crossing over a threshold.  A little letting go.  And also a distinct emerging of something new.

The baby becomes a noisy toddler... the winnie-the-pooh cot gives way to the proud first night in a bed.  Pre-school is charged with all the zeal she can muster. Then she looks adorable in her school uniform and the baby things are boxed in the garage... then all the playing on the floor with endless families of Sylvanians comes to a slow end and so on it goes.  This beautiful cycle of growing up.

Every precious day is full of wonder, of growing and becoming...

and it is all a privilege, witnessing the gentle unfurling of each new phase.

Exams

There have been mounds of papers and books in most rooms, much snack and tea-making as well as shoulder rubbing - we are about half-way through. A few more days yet.

Exams are over!!! Rebecca can now sleep in, swim, anything but study.  PANCAKES!!

Netball and stawberries

Yesterday afternoon at the school's inter-house netball tournament... she had a blast!

Afternoon treats, chocolate strawberries and smoothie... hmmm, one is Becca's and one is mine.

Rebecca had to play for her schools U16's team in a netball match as they were a player down for half the match.  Was so proud of her.

such a great community project! Busy but fun!

So new - My girl starts High School... wow, feels like I just finished but not!

So old - the girl still does her chores after school.

just over a month to go.  It was an emotional evening...

Teachers are truly special

Today was Rebecca's teachers birthday.  She is really amazing - this is the birthday cake that they organised!
